Wendes Systems, Inc. introduces a new generation of Cost Estimating Software for HVAC Ductwork Estimating and HVAC Mechanical Estimating with a seamless transfer of labor and material cost data throughout the building design and fabrication process. By enabling engineers, architects, estimators and fabricators to collaborate as a team, companies will significantly increase productivity and reduce costly errors. The new generation of cost estimating software is scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2005.

Wendes has expanded its' cost estimating software for ductwork and mechanical construction by enabling more efficient data entry and seamless transfer of information from Autodesk Building Systems. The Microsoft Windows based software allows e-mailing and faxing of material lists to vendors. "Real Time Processing" facilitates data input and processing for calculating labor and material cost. Grand total labor and material cost data interfaces seamlessly with Excel Spreadsheets for manipulation and customization.

Material reports for accessory cost and labor pounds per piece or pounds per hour based on the total project or individual zone have been expanded. Recognizing the need for on-the-fly cost analysis in the bidding process the ability to convert rectangular galvanized to round spiral ductwork or round spiral to rectangular galvanized ductwork is provided as a preference. A project takeoff may be converted from any type and size of ductwork to another ductwork type or size, on-the fly. For instance, galvanized ductwork may be converted to round or oval ductwork of equal aspect ratio. Ductwork may be converted to other material types.These new features expand the capability for comparative cost analysis and flexibility in HVAC Ductwork estimating.

Wendes Mechanical, Piping, Plumbing and High Purity Cost Estimating contain an extensive material database, that is expandable and customizable. Multiple labor sets and pricing services, such as, National or MCAA labor data may be maintained. Mechanical assemblies may be associated with drawings and viewed on-screen with a graphic takeoff trail depicting system information.. Material lists may be e-mailed and faxed to vendors, material pricing may also be integrated with Ferguson or Harrison e-office.
