NOTICE
OF TAX REVENUE INCREASE
The PORT FREEPORT DISTRICT conducted public hearings on August 23, 2018 and August 30, 2018 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the PORT FREEPORT DISTRICT from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 3.67 percent.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.040100 for each $100 of taxable value was $5,195,044.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.040100 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $5,354,391.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.040100 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $5,522,967.
The Board of Commissioners of PORT FREEPORT DISTRICT is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 10, 2018 at the Port Freeport Administration Building 1100 Cherry Street in Freeport, Texas 77541 at 10:00am.
The Board of Commissioners of PORT FREEPORT DISTRICT proposes to use the increase in total tax revenue for the purpose of of covering increased maintenance costs for the district..
