1. About ECO Mode

ECO Mode is a power-saving mode that DS-510 switches to when it has been idle for a specified period of time. When in ECO Mode, USB Bus power is switched off to save power.
With ECO Mode enabled, you can save power for DS-510 and the connected USB devices.

2. Turning on ECO Mode setting

ECO Mode can be enabled or disabled. Also, the amount of time before switching to ECO Mode can be specified.

ECO Mode settings can be configured from the Web page. For details, please see Extended Settings.

3. Conditions to switch to ECO Mode

DS-510 will switch to ECO Mode when it is idle for a certain period of time specified by ECO Mode Shift Time (minutes) and the following conditions are met:

  • Because SX Virtual Link regularly communicates with DS-510, DS-510 will not switch to ECO Mode if SX Virtual Link is running. To allow activation of ECO Mode, shut down all computers with SX Virtual Link installed or close SX Virtual Link on each computer.
  • If printing using the print server feature is performed, ECO Mode will be turned off.

4. How to see if ECO Mode is on/off

You can check the Web page to see whether ECO Mode is enabled or disabled.

Access the Web page according to the instructions on Using a Web browser to display the Web page.

See the information on 1. Device Status.
If DS-510 is running in ECO Mode, the USB Device Information of the connected USB device will not be displayed.
When a printer is connected to DS-510, only Printer Information will be displayed.

5. Conditions to turn off ECO Mode

ECO Mode will be turned off in the following conditions.
Once ECO Mode is turned off, the USB Bus power of DS-510 will be enabled automatically.
