A good title and description provide a clear picture of your item and increase your chances that buyers will find and bid on or buy your item.
What to avoid in your description
- Don't say anything that isn't true.
- Upload pictures to your listing.
- Don't include information unrelated to the item for sale.
- Don't repeat information provided in other sections of your listing.
- Don't include email addresses and some links
- Don't include trademarked logos, unless you have permission to use them.
Writing an informative description
The description is your opportunity to provide buyers with more information about the item. Be sure to use complete sentences and correct spelling and grammar. Organize information in paragraphs with similar information grouped together.
Start with the most important details that buyers need first, such as additional details about your item.
Include specific information like size, shape, color, age, manufacture date, country of origin, company/artist/author, and notable features or markings.
Clearly state the item's condition, such as new, used, or still under warranty. Be sure to mention any flaws or repairs.
Be clear about what's included and the type of packaging.
Make the description as readable as possible.
Include your return shipping policy for international returns, if it's different from your return policy for buyers located in your country.
In a separate short paragraph, consider including a story about the item, or why the item is appealing. Many sellers have found that adding a creative, human approach to their descriptions boosts bids and sales.

What to avoid in your description
In general, when listing items on eBay, you can include links that are solely intended to provide additional details about the items. Links should only be used when that information can't be included in the listing itself. This can include links to additional images, technical specifications, manufacturer warranties, and other information that can help buyers make an informed buying decision. Links that point to a third-party website, such as image hosting and auction template sites, are also allowed.
We don't allow links to non-eBay sites where other items are offered for sale. We continually review links on the site and reserve the right to block any link considered unsafe for our members.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including limits on your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

Payment Information
Payment options for most listings.
For most categories, you need to offer at least one electronic payment or Internet merchant credit card option. This provides a fast and secure transaction for you and the buyer. When a buyer clicks the Pay Now button in My eBay, the listing, or email notification, they pay you immediately and the payment is processed through the option you've chosen. You receive an email telling you that you've been paid and you can ship the item.
You can also offer payment upon pickup. Payment by personal check, cashier's check, bank-to-bank transfers, or money order isn't allowed for most eBay purchases.
You'll choose your payment options when you list your item.

Shipping Information
Offer free or discounted shipping
Offering free shipping or multiple-item discounts encourages buyers to purchase additional items from you.
To offer free shipping, select the Free shipping check box when you list your item. When buyers search for items, they can sort results by Price + Shipping. Items with free shipping or low shipping costs rank higher in search results.

Tip: Offer free shipping—if we can confirm a buyer didn't pay for shipping, you'll automatically receive a 5-star detailed seller rating for shipping and handling charges.
Returns Policy
Buyers are more comfortable shopping with sellers who accept returns, even though most buyers will never return an item. We've found that items that have clear return policies typically sell better than items that don't.
We require all sellers on eBay to specify a return policy, whether the policy is to accept returns or not. We encourage you to offer a buyer-friendly return policy. A generous return policy can help you qualify for Top Rated Plus and attract more buyers. Accepting returns can also provide your buyers with a way to resolve concerns.
If you accept returns, a buyer can return an item for any reason, even if they change their mind about a purchase. This is true as long as the return meets your return requirements, for example, returning an item within your stated time frame, and meeting item condition requirements.
Important: Even if you specify "no returns accepted," under the eBay Money Back Guarantee the buyer can still return an item if it doesn't match the listing description.
